As is my yearly wont, I am sipping the Nouveau as I write this.

It is certainly pleasant enough (but, some might argue, correctly, that I am not a very harsh critic of red wine as long as it is liquid, red, contains some alcohol & doesn’t taste like vinegar). Jokes apart, it is not bad. Not as ‘fruity’ (i.e., slightly sweet) as the last few years.

To my (unrefined) palate it comes across as more tart & tangy than what we had in the last few years. Yes, I know the technical term. Tanin. So, it appears to have more tannin. That is NOT a bad thing. Red wine is supposed to have tanin.

Interesting wine. The first sip can leave your tongue, palate & senses a tad confused. You taste the tannin BUT then there is a ‘sweeter’ aftertaste that kicks in right behind. Kind of balances each other. But, in the end, some will, like I, contend that this is more of a ‘harsher’ Nouveau than what we got accustomed to over the last few years. That is bound to happen. Nothing wrong with that.

I still like it. I will still drink the 3 bottles I bought & will most likely buy a few more.

Not too thrilled with the $12.99 price. Yes, inflation. But, I think we have got close to the ceiling. For $13.99 you could get a more refined red. SMILE.

Georges Duboeuf please take note.

This is a brand new company co-founded by a friend of mine.

I, as you can see in two of the pictures above, got three bottles of their sauce. The ‘Bee Sweet‘ bottle is already 1/2-empty! It is beyond jummy. An intriguing tangy, hot/sweet flavor. Think Chinese ‘sweet-&-sour‘. This is along those lines but ‘hot-&-sweet‘. It is kind of addictive. Finger licking good.

Please try it out. You will not regret it. OK?

I will keep you posted. I will be getting more bottles. Of that there can be no doubt or debate.

If you like WW II Bomber artwork you will love their graphics. They set out to emulate those iconic works of art. Here is an example, from a B-25 (from Wikipedia).
