I heard this, i.e., that the Seychelles’ navy, was JOINING the U.K., France, Canda, Spain, Norway, et. al., in protecting the Red Sea.
Struck me as incongruous. Yes, I am fully aware that they are an island nation — so a navy (as opposed to an army) makes sense. But, I also knew that they are tiny & not likely to have a large population. I, of course, had to look that up. They have a TOTAL population of 100,000.
That is about the same as Albany, New York, or South Bend, Indianna.
100,000 isn’t that many.
Well, I had to look it up too. They actually have a small, but decent sized navy! Fancy that. There is even a Wikipedia entry for it.
Just wanted to bring this to YOUR attention. Who knew. Live and learn.
