Easily, & by far, my most referenced, thumbed through, & studied book!

Yep. More so than any other book I have. Yes, I will confess that I, these days, rarely reach out for my trusty ‘The Concise Oxford Dictionary’ (1995). It is always right next to me, when I am at my PC, but I don’t reach for it often. Instead, I, alas, cheat. I use online dictionaries. {SMILE}. I also have a full-size, “Roget’s (International) Thesaurus” (4th edition), always on top of the dictionary. I do use that quite often, but not that often — in that I now have my standard repertoire of words I use in 96% of my writing. {It is interesting. I just noticed a small, light blue, sticky tag on the spine of the Thesaurus. It says “05/18/11 $.99”! I must have picked it up on clearance for 99 cents, over a decade ago. I remember that it replaced my original, which had been given to me in 1969. That was falling apart too.

JND Kelly’s Dictionary is my go to source for papal information. I have readily admitted that I always start my papal research on Wikipedia! No shame in that. It is just handy. Then, if I NEED I refer to Kelly. Most times that is about all I need. If NOT, I do have quite an extensive papal library. But, I don’t use those books that much. More times than not I go to my OWN BOOKS! {Smile}

Today, I ended up ordering two new copies of the Kelly book; one from Amazon, the other from eBay. Neither was expensive. I really didn’t want the latest edition — with updates by ‘Michael Walsh’. I wanted the original. Hence, why I got an older edition from eBay.
