I lived in Meredith from 1997 to 1999, right next to this railway line, 1-mile from Meredith station. During Summer & Fall we would have at least 3 trains a day go right by the house. More often than not we would go out to see it pass. The engineers & guards knew us & we knew them. We also rode the train quite often. So, I am no stranger to this railroad — though I no longer live in Meredith, don’t visit it that often, & have not ridden on this railway (alas) for a v. long time.
Today, while I was getting my Volvo XC60 inspected for its State sticker, I had a chance to walk around the railyard & see some action. It was nostalgic.
Some locomotive identification for the fans:
Locomotive #1012: EMD SW1000 diesel locomotive.
Locomotive #302: EMD GP7 diesel locomotive.
