Post from a month ago. This amazed me too. Click image to access that post.

I had NOT expected to see anything. Just a sad, severely pruned back tree — looking sorry for itself. Instead I see these BEAUTIFUL, purple sprouts.

WOW!

6-days ago, i.e., May 6, 2023, ON FIRM instructions (from whom must be obeyed) I severely pruned back this plumb tree. She wanted to me take it totally down. I protested. I don’t like taking down trees. This was one of the trees I had planted, with my own hands, when we moved to this house in March 2007 (i.e., 16-years ago). It had grown into a full, beautiful tree. In late Spring it was awash with delicate pink flowers & soon afterwards a lot of dark, purple leaves.

Over the winter it had caught some airborne black fungus. There was no growth we could see. So, I, after being presented with online proof, agreed to prune it — aggressively.

That was 6 days ago.

Now this.

WOW. I am in AWE. How amazing.

I will keep you posted.

Saw this in our yard this morning. I was AMAZED & humbled.

Up until this morning this area was SNOW PACKED — snow covered.

So, there was snow on top of this leaf holding it down, holding it in place. Hence, the burgeoning crocuses couldn’t just push it out of the way.

Instead they PUNCHED holes through the leaf while still underneath the snow.

WOW.

Just think about it.

The sheer power of plants, the sheer power of nature. I am in awe. WOW.

It is Fall & we do have lots of fallen leaves on the ground. She somehow managed to get this solitary leaf stuck to her fir, under her chin.

Didn’t bother her. She seemed kind of proud of it. Wore it like a necklace.

I had to capture it for posterity — so I can show it to her years later! SMILE.
