I very rarely shoot video. I don’t consider it my ‘medium’. Still photos is my thing (as many of you must have worked out by now). But, this song, in Italian, sung so mellifluously by Susie with David brilliant on a bouzouki, had me hunting for the video button. As you can see, I am not good at capturing video, not that I am much good at anything. But, I wanted to be able to share this with YOU. Enjoy.

We could NOT have had a better act to get this (free) Folk Festival going. Susie Burke & David Surette were brilliant, just brilliant. Quintessential folk by two very genuine & gifted artists. I am big into traditional (British) folk, so I kind of know ‘good’ folk when I hear it. And this was not just good folk, this was very, very good folk. I was in my element. I was entranced. They were exceptional, exemplary.

I was not familiar with them prior to Saturday. As soon as I got home that night I checked them out. They are duly famous & recognized. Bravo. They deserve to be. That they are both very active in furthering folk music makes me very happy.

I plan to go see them play again. They only have one other performance currently scheduled & I am not going to be around. Plus, there is COVID! But, rest assured I will follow them. So, should you — if you can.

They really set us up for the rest of the Festival. I thank them for that. Not sure what they thought of some of the acts that followed them. There was at least one other that was very good. But, I only made one video & it was of these two. SMILE.
