I guess the Russians are not familiar with the saying that ‘imitation is the sincerest form of flattery‘.

Wow. I immediately thought it was a Bentley & wondered what Putin was thinking in giving a capitalist Bentley to Trump’s buddy. I was intrigued. I had to look it up.

It was NOT a Bentley.

It is a blatant Russian RIP-OFF of a Bentley. It is made by a Russian car company called ‘Aurus Motors‘. Shameless. Wow. But, acknowledgement that we have always been better at design than them.

But, it got me thinking. SADLY & inconceivably, ‘Rolls-Royce‘ & ‘Bentley’ are NO LONGER British! They are (bloody) German owned. Such a bloody shame. Breaks my heart.

Well, now we all know.

It just crossed my (admittedly warped mind) that it was SO, SUPER IRONIC that this car that was described as all as having FLOWN over the barriers was called a ‘Flying Spur‘.

While I am partial to Bentleys (though I haven’t owned one (as yet)), I am NOT that familiar with the model names. Yes, I am sure I have heard of the ‘Flying Spur’ BUT I had never given it much thought until THIS.

So, what the HECK is a ‘Flying Spur’?

It is NOT obvious. I had to look it up. It is a bit obtuse and complicated. An heraldic ‘device’ from a Coat of Arms. This will explain it.

Well, now we know. Flying Spur.

I am sure that the name doesn’t give them leeway to fly.

I don’t know what happened, but I feel bad about the car too. $300,000+ car gone –> poof.
