I am constantly on the lookout for NEW low-sugar yogurts. I like my ‘Chobani‘ — but I also kind of like variety. This week, to my delight, I saw that my local ‘Hannaford‘ had some of these ‘:Ratio Keto‘ yogurts — albeit just in vanilla. I was kind of familiar with them because I had tried their Keto GRANOLA & had liked it. So, of course, I had to try it.
It was GOOD. Very good. Richer & creamier, IMO, than Chobani & hence more pleasing & satisfying. Plus it appears to have 2 LESS CARBS! Wow. That is amazing. I am going to buy a couple more next week. I will also have to try & find some other flavors.
But, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Give it a try. You have NOTHING to lose.
From ‘Chobani‘.The ‘Two Good’ Lemon — still one of my favorites.
Of late ‘Chobani’ has quite THE RANGE of ‘zero sugar‘ yogurts.
I have sampled most of them. I really do like the ‘milk & cookies’, ‘key lime’ & ‘salted caramel’. To be fair though, they can only do much in terms of taste & kick. They don’t, of course, have the FULL-BODY & ZEST you get with an indulgent yogurt with lots of carbs & fat. But, these are good for you.
I still get the ‘Two Good’ Lemon. I do like its sharp taste.
For over 20-years I ate yogurt, every night after dinner, religiously. Prior to that I had assiduously avoided it thinking that I would not like the texture or smell. But, one of the many real good doctors I was fortunate enough to know convinced me that I should eat yogurt every day if I could. I started off, in the late 1990s, with all the fancy, HIGHLY SWEETENED types. Once I got in the swing of things I tried to get the more healthy varieties.
Yes, I did eat plain Greek yogurt daily, for many years. But, I kind of got tired of it. Yes, I would eat it with fruit — & I do eat a LOT of fruit daily.
Then about a ‘year ago‘ I came across ‘Two Good’ — which boasted just 2 grams of sugar. Bingo. I liked that.
In my case FAT is not the issue. I am already fat enough.
It is the carbs, the damn carbs. I have to cut back on the carbs (especially given the amount I consume with my red wine).
So, ‘Two Good’ was very good. 2G of sugar, 3G of carbs. I do NOT eat it every night. Only about three times a week. Other than wine & something else, MODERATION is my byword.
I had wondered how long it would be before ‘Two Good’ ran into competition. Funnily enough, just two weeks ago I did a Google search to see if there were others that had started making v. low sugar-content yogurts. I found none.
But, this Monday, I saw the ‘Zero Sugar‘ ‘Chobani‘ at ‘Hannaford‘. I have always liked Chobani. Plus, ZERO SUGAR! Wow.
There is something awry with the labelling, however. Chobani, with 0G sugar, as 5g carbs, to the 3g carbs in Two Good — though they have 2g of sugar. I will have to dig into that. They are both good. Of course, they don’t have the lingering kick of a high sugar yogurt. But, beggars, as I have learnt (painfully) over the years, cannot be choosers.
