I have seen pressed flower art aplenty BUT nothing like this. The detail, composition, presentation & impact was just astounding. Breathtaking. I LOVED the little animals they have in some of the works. Just brilliant.

I saw the work, & (fleetingly) met Haruhiko Murakami, this afternoon at the Craft Fair in ‘Wolfeboro‘. I didn’t get a chance to really have a chat with him other than to establish that he is from Maine. I also didn’t get a chance to tell him that we NO LONGER buy any art because we have a very talented & prolific artist-in-residence & we do NOT have a sq. inch of wall space left in this relatively large (3,400 sq. ft.) house.

But, I sure want to bring this work to your attention. Please check it out. You will be rewarded. [Seeing this work has inspired me to do a little bit of flower pressing myself. As a kid, like most ‘British‘ kids of that era (i.e., 1950s & 1960s) I pressed flowers, in between tissue paper placed inside heavy books. I am going to start in a few weeks, fairly simply, as soon as I finish my next (i.e., the 3rd) ‘Bold Coast’ book which is nearly DONE!]
