The locals (like I) & the ‘savvy’ are leaving Acadia, at least during the ‘peak season’, to the tourists & availing themselves of the other gems to be found in Maine. And this is already causing some (maybe even many) to start panicking — & I don’t use that word lightly. They are, justifiably, worried that their neck of the woods will become the next Acadia — & they are not prepared for that (at least as yet).

Well, I am NOT going to mention the regions that are on ‘alert’. That would undermine them. They are TRYING to lower their profile so that they will not end up getting the Acadia ‘spillover’. I appreciate their concern! It has me torn. Some of you, who know me, know what parts of Maine, other than Acadia, that are my habitual stomping grounds — though as you can see I state that in the plural.

So, what happens now?

I am not sure. I am concerned. I bear SOME responsibility TOO — & I intend to be responsible. I am, with this post, just giving you a heads up. Bear with I. SMILE. Maine is still GREAT.
