I knew that native Indians ate dogs and that, moreover, they were considered a delicacy.
I happen to be listening, entranced, to the above AUDIOBOOK (^) about the expedition. That is how I came to know about their penchant for dog eating. Captain Meriwether Lewis, the de facto expedition leader, wrote in his (renowned) journals that he PREFERRED dog to elk!
WOW.
And yes, Lewis, like I, had a Newfie, ‘Seaman‘ (who I think was bigger than mine, viz., ‘Rowen‘). It is not recorded whether Seaman was FED dog meat & what he thought of dogs being killed, COOKED and eaten.
So, with all this talk about eating cats & dogs, THINK about this.
P.S., Growing up in Ceylon (in the 1950s/1960s) it was taken for GRANTED that the Chinese living in Ceylon ate cats and that what they served in restaurants as ‘chicken’ was but cat!

I think you will be pleased. SMILE. Let me know.
This is still a work in progress. Unlike dear Salvador I have other interests, other projects, other commitments …. IF you can HELP, please let me know. Thanks. That would help much.

‘Garmin‘ & ‘Volvo‘ sure do vye hard to see how is more inept when it comes to software. Weather is now a BIG feature on smartwatches.
They obviously did NOT check weather! Can’t even imagine how that is possible. Poor show.
Glad I am not planning to get a ‘Fenix 8‘ anytime soon. In my old age I have learnt to be patient. I no longer rush to get gadgets as soon as they are announced. I wait for others to shake out the bugs.
Wow. But, I am not happy.
I sold my holdings in Garmin years ago. Glad I did.

Heard about this, this morning (& YES) on ‘BBC News‘. I was kind of incredulous. Cannot be right. WTF.
Killing elephants for food … in 2024.
I hadn’t really thought about it, BUT now that I do, I realize we have been killing elephants for food since prehistoric times. Our ancestors hunted the wooly mammoths — or at least that is what we think.
Wow. Just seems right.
But, I guess human needs & HUNGER comes first.
Shame we can’t address this some other way. Crazy sad world.

I was expecting MORE. We have had some very cold nights — into the low 40sF. That is said to be the trigger for the colors changing. Cold nights.
I think the week or so of cold nights we had, around last week, were atypical.
I saw the first fall colors of 2024 exactly a month ago. So it is not unreasonable to have expected more color.
I did see a map, online, that said peak for central NH was mid-Oct. I am kind of surprised.
I will, of course, as I do every year, keep you updated & posted.
