Papal Heraldry: Oh, How I Wish I Had The Time.

Until last night I had never really paid much attention to papal heraldry — actually any type of heraldry. I would be vaguely familiar as to why such and such a pope might have opted to include this or that in their coat of arms, e.g., John XXIII using the winged lion of Venice to denote that he had been the Patriarch of Venice.
Last night I had an e-mail from an academic who specialized in ecclesiastical heraldry. Got me intrigued. I took a quick look at what the popes had done.
Today, I spent 5 minutes having a look. WOW. There is so much to be researched.
I could easily do a ‘Popes and the Tale of their Coats of Arms‘. Wow. I could have a ball. It would nicely complement my books of pope names.
BUT, I don’t have the money. Stupid to even think I have.
A great field for someone. I am envious.

Yes, I watched it earlier this week.
It was OK. Wasn’t sure that it was that special. Yes, he did well to go to ‘Yale’ and get through given what he had gone through.
I just kept on wondering whether ‘Donald Trump‘ watched it BEFORE he picked him as his V.P.
Just wondering.
Wonder what he thought. If he did watch, he obviously must have been impressed. Interesting.

Very strange. As some of you know I listen to ‘BBC‘ news multiple times a day on ‘Sirius XM‘. This is BBC News from London. Typically they EXCEL at reporting relevant news stories from the UK. Not so the last week.
So much so that I think there is some sort of CENSORSHIP going on!
Yep, I kid you not. This morning they in passing mentioned that a few of the rioters from this past weekend had had their court hearings and had been jailed. That was it. They couldn’t wait to move on.
They spent hours talking about the situation in Bangladesh. Yes, that was serious, BUT what is happening in the UK is closer to home — & it could spread to other countries, especially if ‘Elon Musk‘ continues to fan the flames.
It is disturbing.
It appears that that BBC et. al. have been instructed to ‘keep the volume down‘. Not Good. Damages their credibility too.

‘Super Micro Computer’ (SMCI) Most Likely Will Announce A Split Today. Will It Be 5:1 or 6:1?

Yes, it has come off its lofty highs earlier in the year — or for that matter, a few weeks ago. It has been as high as $1,229 this year! So today it is trading at half that.
A few weeks ago, I was still thinking 10:1 slit.
Doubt whether they would do that now. Would make the stock a tad too cheap.
This year we had both ‘Broadcom’ (AVGO) & ‘NVDA‘ do splits (though it hasn’t done great guns for the stock).
IF they announce a split it will not be a surprise. Most will find it boringly predictable.
Would be good for option traders.
We will know in just a couple of hours. SMILE.
I Sure Hope ‘Tim Walz’ Works Out For ‘Kamala’. ‘Tim’ Is NOT An Auspicious Name For VPs.

Yes, he wasn’t one of my two picks, BUT that is OK. My wishes only rarely come true.
Yes, I am an acknowledged AGEIST — but I can afford to be. I know, first hand, what age does. That he looks that OLD leads me to believe that he is fond of the ….
AND BINGO …
A DWI conviction just 30 year ago (and I use ‘just’ advisedly). He would have been 30. A bit too old for a DWI (though, of course, I know there is NO age limit for stupidity).
Well, my graphic conveys my current thinking.
I hope this works out.
I Can Live With ‘Josh Shapiro’ (Over Kelly) As VP, BUT Very Unsure/Shaky About ‘Walz’.

Yes, indubitably, ‘Mark Kelly’ is my favorite. But, I understand the dynamics.
I DO count electoral votes. PA has 9 more than AZ! Not that much, but 2024 is going to be tight. Come November 9 electoral votes could make a huge difference.
Plus, I appreciate the midterm election risk in 2026 IF ‘Mark Kelly‘ is VP rather than a senator. This midterm consideration is a bummer. Irks me (no end) BUT I get it. We can’t afford to lose even ONE Senate seat. Wow.
I have also watched Shapiro on TV over the last few days. He is good. Impressive.
Not sure about Walz.
Yes, I will confess I know NOTHING about him. I was SHOCKED, today, to learn that he is only 60-years old! WOW. He looks OLD. I thought he was in his 70s. Not good. He also looks unkempt. His military record is an asset. But?

Did Stock Trading Platforms Really Crash, Or Were They MANIPULATED To SLOW/STOP Selling?

This was NOT RIGHT! This was not kosher. On ‘Twitter’ there are some very disgruntled customers. They appear to have lost a lot of money.
This had to have been devastating for some. Not being able to get to your accounts or sell stock … as the blood bath was happening. WOW. Not good.
I hope there is a Class Action suit. I am sure, in total, folks can probably point to BILLIONS OF LOSSES from lost trading opportunity.
Yes, I am also sure that there is UNREAD fine print saying that none of these firms guarantee UPTIME and that you are SCREWED if the trading platforms are down.
I am curious to see how this all unwinds. I will try to keep you posted. HOPE you were not one of the folks impacted this morning.
