This was AHEAD of a storm we are expecting.
There were a few, brief, MINOR gusts of wind.
Then we lost power TWICE in quick succession.
In both instances it was back within 4 minutes!
So, though ‘Eversource‘, as ALWAYS, is blaming it on tree branches on wires, I think it was either crew doing some maintenance or them messing around at a station. Either way I am NOT happy BUT delighted that I have my ‘Generac‘ (installed just over a year ago).

‘NVIDIA‘ (NVDA), the AI darling, by comparison has done quite well — but NVDA has been gravity-defying for the last year. But, it did NOT go crazy after the split.
2024 YTD comparison of NVDA, AVGO, AMZN and CMG.
NVDA, of course, is the run-away start. AVGO has done OK, but pales in comparison. AMZN has done OK but nothing to get too excited about.
CMG has fared the worst, BUT this will change over time — especially if the earnings keep on impressing.
So, AVGO splits this weekend. Will be interesting to see how it does.

I happened to hear this in a book that I am listening to & HAD to check it out. Wow. I never knew.
I think it is cool.
I never had a chance to live in Somerset but I lived fairly close by in proper Hampshire. Given that I spent a lot of time in Bristol (having been married to a lass from there (& I refuse to talk about her Bristols)) I have spent a fair amount of time in Somerset. Lovely county, and in my days had some GREAT cricket players Botham & Viv Richards among them. Home of cheddar cheese and great cider.
Wouldn’t it have been nice to have New Hampshire & New Somerset side-by-side.
I wanted to make sure you knew about this. New Somerset.

Please, check it out. I don’t make this stuff up. Though the U.K. ‘Daily Mail’ is a tabloid, in my vast experience with them spanning nearly 50 years, they usually don’t invent stories. There has usually been a fire somewhere IF they do a story about ‘smoke’ — though the smoke in the story might not have come from the fire that happened.
In this story, they don’t tell you what kind of snake it was — though in the picture that accompanied the story they show a King Cobra. It does say he (the man not the snake) was taken to a hospital and given an antivenom shot. He was released from hospital he next day.
Well, as headlines go, it sure beats ‘Man Bites Dog‘ or even yesterday’s story, below, of a Sri Lankan trying to stop an elephant by pulling its tail. Stuff that happens in that corner of Asia.

He, IMO, would be awesome.
Can you image Trump confronted by Senator Kelly at a debate. Trump will be intimidated. Kelly is everything that Trump would like to have been.
Mark Kelly is a genuine U.S. HERO.
OK, yes, that was also true of his senatorial predecessor, ‘John McCain‘ — but McCain was beaten by Obama. Trump is NO Obama.
Something to think about. He will certainly carry Arizona — a state you HAVE to WIN.
Think about it.

I heard about this, this morning, on ‘BBC Radio‘ (that I listen to in the mornings during my amble). Another thing I have learnt, recently, from the BBC. They even mentioned that the keeper tried to stop the elephant by grabbing it by its tail! I was gobsmacked. That was pretty stupid. When elephants ‘go wild’ folks do the craziest things. Way back, close to 60 years ago, at a carnival at the (old) ‘race course’ in Colombo a baby elephant (under 1-year old) started running around and charging into tents. When it came into the tent we were in, my father, a BIG MAN (in every sense), whacked it, on the shoulder with his hand — with all his might. The baby, shrieked, just like a human baby, turned tail and ran away.
The media, including the U.K. Daily Mail & BBC claim that this happened at a Hindu festival. NOT SO. Hindu temple, BUT a Buddhist festival! Yes, ONLY in Sri Lanka. This temple, in southern Sri Lanka, ‘Kataragama‘, one that I used to visit multiple times a year during my time there, is the 2nd most popular Buddhist pilgrimage site in Sri Lanka. I would reckon that Buddhists visiting this temple outweigh Hindus by a million-to-1! Yes, Hindu temple, Buddhist temple.
I am NOT happy with how elephants are getting treated in Sri Lanka — especially by the Buddhists, who should no better. They should not be used for PERFORMANCES — religious or not.

As I have said earlier, excommunicating Viganò will be playing straight into his own hands — & plans.
I had a hunch that Viganò was not dependent on the Vatican for his sustenance. I just got the feeling he had means of his own. I looked it up. He is from a wealthy family and has quite the inheritance. So, he is not going to be homeless & hungry.
Now he has all the freedom & latitude he wants to be even more critical of the pope, the pope’s inner cabal & the Vatican. I am sure he has some interesting dirt that he will start to divulge. Pope Francis should have played cool. But, he couldn’t resist. Not good. This will backfire.

I refuse to see overweight/obese doctors & dentists.
I am a great believer in the adage, “physician, heal thyself“.
If a doctor can’t look after himself/herself, what confidence can I have that they will know what is good for I.
I have walked out of doctors when I have discovered that they are FAT!
Hey, my body, my life, my money, MY RULES.
Fat doctors don’t inspire confidence in me. I think they are SLOBS. Sorry.
My preferences.
But, this could explain a LOT when it comes to what is ailing Biden these days.
Biden has an inept doctor.
