As a dual US-UK citizenKeir Starmer‘ is my new Prime Minister (though I did not get a chance to vote (in that voting remotely in U.K. elections is far from straightforward).

He seems like a DECENT BLOKE! I can relate to him. Human Rights lawyer. Good British stock.

Generally I tend to be partial to British Conservative leaders. I am particularly fond of ‘Boris Johnson‘. That the conservatives lost so badly had something to do with them kicking out dear Boris.

I SCREWED UP WITH THIS POST! I had a Biden moment. Whoops. SORRY.

I am very grateful to ‘James Clarke‘ for pointing out that I screwed up really badly. SORRY.

I honestly can’t remember whether I knew that Boris Johnson has resigned his seat. I really can’t remember. WOW.

My fault. I was going to check on Boris while writing that post, but as ever, I was rushed for time. My fault.

He resigned from being an MP on June 12, 2023 — just over a year ago. That somehow hadn’t registered with me. So, I am fixing it.

Yes, of course, he can run again. I would like to see him run. But for now, it is enough, that I goofed badly. Thank you, Mr. Clarke. Much indebted.

Liz Truss, who was PM for a fleeting 49-days, lost her seat. That was good. Never liked her.

Could never warm to ‘Rishi Sunak‘ either. He, like all billionaires, always appeared to be very SMUG. I am not a great believer that billionaires make good leaders. We now have two examples.

So, a new, BRAVE start. I am rooting for Keir. He has much going for him. I wish him all the best.

‘Our’ Loon Feeding Her New Baby.

OK, it is not ‘our’ Loon per se. It is a Loon nesting & raising her new baby on ‘our’ lake — making use of the nesting raft we provide each year. I am NOT going to mention the name of the lake since I am very committed to making sure that the nest is not disturbed.

Yes, I am very protective about our loons. We go back a long time. In the fall when I am the only one visiting the beach they come close and watch me. I am swum with them.

Having nesting loons is NOT new for us. We have, over the years, have had many. ALAS MANY did not make it to ‘full term’. That distresses I NO END. This nest is in a better place than when they decide to nest, on their own, in the stream leading to the lake.

That is all I am going to say. SMILE.

When they are BOTH swimming I hope I am lucky enough to capture a picture or two.
